In our ComLife house we usually get vistors from time to time although we give each other the heads up it can sometimes be a bit confusing. So we all love guests and have had at one point 14 women sharing one bathroom and tons of laptops on one very slow network, very chaotic! But anyway I usually forget who and when visitors are coming.
This morning Maggie goes into the bathroom while someone is showering, thinking it’s Andy, one of our past World Race Alumni guests. She gets a little bombarded at 8am in the morning as do I when I walk out of my bedroom to find an unknown grining brunette. As I say hi with squinty eyes I think to myself okay who is the strange chick in the shower. I soon find out it is Jen a girl we met back at Breakthrough conference last fall.
We all love guests and this morning just shows how we as the body of Christ should welcome one another even though I sometimes don’t know all of them it is always fun to have new faces and new laughter in our home. Just thinking about it, we have had well over 10 guests strolling in and out of the house in this month alone. The sound of laughter coming from the living room, the gratful smiles and the stirring of people upstairs in our “guest headquaters” is what makes us different and a true welcoming body of Christ.
So next time something like this happens I know my question will no longer be, “Whos the strange chick in the shower?”, but it will be “Look a new friend, a sister, a member of our Community!”
